Arab Federation of Commercial Arbitration and Dispute Settlement

Be a founding member of the Federation:

  • Each member participated in the founding of the Federation by signing the founding document and fulfilling the terms of membership.
  • The founding member shall be a permanent member of the General Assembly of the Federation.

The founding member has the following rights:

  • For a member to attend general assembly meetings, He has the right to vote on resolutions.
  • The member has the right to run for the presidency of the Federation, to serve as Secretary-General in the event that one of these posts is vacant for the reasons contained in Article 16.
  • The presidency and secretariat may assign the member to join any of the federation’s organs, advisory committees or committees of the Federation.
  • Exemption from admission fees, And annual contributions, Fees for participation in the activities and activities of the Federation.
  • The Federation is committed and responsible for the rehabilitation and refinement of the experiences of the founding members through training missions and programs – international, regional and local – in accordance with the rules approved by the training sector and adopted by the General Assembly.

A working member of the Federation accepts:

  • Natural persons who have fulfilled the terms of membership and are believed to be accepted by the Board of Directors.
  • Legal persons who have met the requirements of membership and are considered accepted by the Board of Directors from Arab companies, institutions, bodies, organizations and projects working in the fields referred to in the union’s objectives.

A member, a legal person, is required to have at least 51% of his capital owned by Arab shareholders, As far as possible, he must be represented in the federation’s organs.

For a working member, the following rules apply:

  • The working member may attend the General Assembly meetings, without having the right to vote on resolutions.
  • His representative may not be nominated for the presidency of the Federation, membership of the Board of Directors or for the post of Secretary-General.
  • The presidency and secretariat of the Federation may assign the working member – or representative member for legal persons – to join any of the federation’s organs, advisory committees or committees of the Federation and its sectors.

An observer member of the Federation accepts:

  • Council of Arab Economic Unity.
  • Specialized Arab and international organizations and bodies.
  • He may be an observer member by decision of the Board of Directors of both Arab and international qualitative organizations, bodies and associations related to the union’s activity.

For the observer member, the following rules apply:

  • Attending the General Assembly meetings of his representative, without having the right to vote on resolutions.
  • His representative may not be nominated for the presidency of the Federation, membership of the Board of Directors or as Secretary-General.
  • On the basis of a decision of the General Assembly and on the recommendation of the Board of Directors, his representative may be assigned to join the committees of the Federation.

An associate member of the Federation accepts:

  • Ministries, agencies, organizations, all banks, offices and Arab and international companies that specialize in establishing and implementing businesses that are directly related to the union’s activity.
  • Arab and international advisory offices that operate in the same activity as the Federation.
  • Specialized quality associations operating in Arab and international countries.
  • Chambers of commerce, industry, agriculture and investment operating in Arab and international countries.

For an associate member, the following rules apply:

  • Attending the General Assembly meetings of his representative, without having the right to vote on resolutions.
  • His representative may not be nominated for the presidency of the Federation, membership of the Board of Directors or as Secretary-General.
  • The presidency and secretariat may assign its representative to join any of the federation’s organs, advisory committees or committees of the Federation.
  • Honorary membership of the Federation is granted to those who have provided outstanding services to the Federation, whether material or moral.
  • Honorary membership is granted to the Federation on the basis of the nomination and approval of the Board of Directors of the Federation.

For an honorary member, the following rules apply:

 

  • An honorary member does not have the right to attend general assembly meetings or the right to vote.
  • The honorary member does not run for the presidency of the Federation, a member of the Board of Directors or a position of Secretary-General.

An expert member of the Federation accepts:

  • Arbitration and dispute settlement centers in Arab or foreign countries.
  • Specialized research and studies centers in Arab and foreign countries.
  • Expert centers, consultancies, Arab and international bodies and organizations related to the union’s activity.
  • Natural individuals are experienced in the areas of competence of the Federation.

For the expert member, the following rules apply:

  • Attending general assembly meetings, without having the right to vote on resolutions.
  • His representative may not be nominated for the presidency of the Federation, membership of the Board of Directors or as Secretary-General.
  • He or his representative may be assigned, on the basis of a decision of the General Assembly and on the recommendation of the Board of Directors, to join the committees of the Federation.
